Book Description

On September 18, 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the major national strategy of "ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin" when he hosted a symposium on ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin in Henan. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that "it is necessary to plan for the long-term, but also to work in the present, draw a blueprint to the end, and work one after another, so that the Yellow River can benefit the people." The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation. Protecting the Yellow River is a long-term plan related to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee in consideration of the overall development of the country. Implementing this major national strategy is a major opportunity, a major responsibility and a major task for the nine provinces along the Yellow River.

This book mainly focuses on four aspects. The first is to focus on China's national strategy. Analyze the far-reaching significance of the national strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. Analyze how to seize opportunities, give full play to advantages, and make good use of the resource endowment in the areas along the Yellow River. In order to achieve better and faster development, put forward countermeasures and suggestions. The second is to focus on ecological protection. Describe the status quo of the fragile ecological environment along the Yellow River. Put forward relevant suggestions and measures on water and sand control, water ecological civilization construction, consolidating the ecological barrier of the Yellow River, and realizing the optimization and upgrading of the human settlement environment. The third is to focus on high-quality development. Focusing on changing production and lifestyle, upgrading and transforming traditional kinetic energy, cultivating and expanding new kinetic energy, correctly handling the relationship between ecological protection and high-quality development, and promoting the construction of river basin urban agglomerations. Fourth, focus on the Yellow River culture. Using historical thinking and world vision, we deeply interpret the history of changes and development of the Yellow River. We systematically excavate the culture of the Yellow River and inherit the spirit of the Yellow River.
